Steffi from Germany shares her ingenious compost toilet solution for the campervan — a dual-function loo box that also serves as a seat, with the toilet hidden away for aesthetic reasons.

"Hi Guys! Finally I have built my camping van compost toilet, and I want to share the results with you.
The challenge for me was to save space, so I did not want to use a usual toilet-seat. I also wanted to use the loo-box as a seat in my van, but I wanted to hide the toilet for aesthetic reasons. Now look how beautiful it has become! Tadaaa!
I have not yet tried it out, but I will soon. Many greetings from Germany."

Compost toilets for vanlife
Steffi's dual-function loo-box-as-seat is a brilliant space-saving trick for vanlife builds. By hiding the toilet inside what looks like a regular bench, she's solved both the functional and the aesthetic problem in one move.
